Integrations
Integrations connect a SaaS product to other systems so data or workflows can move between them.
What is Integrations?
An integration connects systems so they can exchange data or coordinate work. It can be built directly by the SaaS provider, configured through an automation platform, or implemented by customers using an API. The value comes from reducing duplicate work and making the product fit the customer’s existing environment.
Example in SaaS
A reporting service pulls sales records from a CRM each night and sends a summary to a messaging app. The integration needs credentials, field mappings, synchronization rules, and a way to show failures. A customer should know whether a missing report reflects a product issue or a connection that needs to be reauthorized.
What to watch for
A logo on an integrations page does not explain what the connection can do. State which objects sync, direction, frequency, limits, and supported actions. APIs and webhooks provide building blocks, but a production integration also needs maintenance and error handling. Duplicates, permission changes, and third-party API updates can turn a simple connection into recurring operational work.
